Common patterns

The central idea behind TaskClone is helping you be more productive by unleashing more of the power of note-taking.  Instead of having to manually copy action items from your notes, you create “connections” between your apps then we’ll copy them for you.  Many of our features take that even further, giving you more control over what, where and how items are transferred and kept updated.  This enriches your notes and saves time in your task app or calendar.

Copy action items

Action items from your notes come in a few forms. We support the following:

• Copy to-dos to my task app. Copy individual checklist items to your task app
• Copy note titles to my task app.  Copy note titles as tasks to your task app
• Schedule events in my calendar. Copy individual checklist items as events to your calendar app
• Schedule Evernote Reminders in my calendar.  Schedule notes with Evernote Reminders in your calendar app.

Add parameters to action items

• Add due dates and destination parameters.  Using the syntax in our Feature Syntax Guide, you can add due dates, tags/labels, priority and assignees in your notes and have those parameters added to the task in your task app.
• Add default parameters to tasks.  Create or edit a connection to include defaults that add specific text and source parameters (e.g. notebook, section) to every task sent to the destination using that connection.  Using the syntax in our Feature Syntax Guide, you can also add default settings for due dates, tags/labels, priority and assignees to all tasks using that connection.

Control sync behavior

• Add or remove note links from action items.  Create or edit a connection so all action items include links to the web and/or app version of the originating note.
• Sync changes in task status. Turn on/off the ability to sync completion status between source and destination apps.
• Skip individual action items. Using the syntax in our Feature Syntax Guide, skip individual action items in a note
• Specify destination of specific action items.  Using the syntax in our Feature Syntax Guide, you can specify the destination of each action item in a note or only process the action items you specify.
