Specify destination of specific action items
Individually specify if and where action items should go
In this article
Why individually specify the destination
We know there are times when not all the action items in a note need to be processed. There are also times when most action items should go to one destination, but one or more should go to a different destination. In addition to the ability to Skip individual action items, TaskClone allows you to specify which individual action items will be processed and where they will go.
Process only designated action items
This feature is best used if you want to only process individual action items you designate and skip others.
- During the setup of your connection, set the action item Identification Method to “Designated”.
- In the note, add the pipe “ | ” symbol followed by “>” and the connection name to the action item.
You will find the connection name on the Connections Page after you complete set up.
Specify an alternative destination
This feature is best used if you want most action items to go to one destination, but you want one or more to go to an alternative destination.
- You must have at least two connections with the same source app.
- For any action item you want to go to a different destination than it would otherwise go to, add the pipe “ | ” symbol followed by “>” and the alternate connection name to the action item.
These features work with both note titles and to-dos. See the Feature Syntax Guide for more help on adding parameters or instructions to action items.
